Windows Vista Style Wallpaper


In today's world WALLPAPER or Background  is an unavoidable decor to be adorned not only on a

mobile and a desktop screen, but also used in editing digital images. In this post, I will dictate how to 

create Windows Vista Style Wallpaper.  It is so easy to create and require only a few minutes to carry

out the work.






Step 1 : Open the Photoshop Software and create a new file using Ctrl + N.




Let the Width be 1920 px and height be 1200 px. Resolution is 72 pixels/inch.

I named the file "Windows_Vista_Style_Wallpaper".


Step 2 : Go to Layer - New Fill Layer - Gradient



Then a small window will pop up with name "Gradient Fill 1", Color "None", Mode "Normal"

and Opacity "100%". Click OK.



Again another small window will pop up showing "Gradient Fill". Click on the drop down list. It will 

lead to the settings icon as shown in the image below.



Click on the Settings Icon.


Click "Simple"



A new window will pop up asking "Replace current gradients with the gradients from Simple ?"

Click "OK" or "Append".

Then Click on "Lime Green" color. Set the style as Radial, angle 90, Scale 150 % and Check Align 

with layer.



Step 3 : Click Ctrl + N to create a new Layer. Click M to select Elliptical Marquee tool.


Draw a small circle at the edge by clicking "Shift" Key. Click B to select the Brush tool. Choose a

soft brush of 300 px, check whether the foreground color is Grey color (#444444) and give a small

stroke at the edge of the circle lying on the canvas.



Make the Blending mode of the layer to "Color Dodge".



Step 4 : Duplicate Layer 1 by clicking Ctrl + J. Click Ctrl + T to transform the circle a little to the

right as shown in the pic below.



Step 5 : Create a new Layer. Select "Rectangular Marquee Tool" and draw a rectangle.





Using the same soft brush that we had used for painting the circle, paint the edge of the rectangle too

as shown above.

Go to Edit - Transform - Warp





Give some variations to the warp as shown in the pic above and click "Enter" key.



Change the Blending Mode to 'Color Dodge'.


Step 6 : Duplicate the above rectangle layer and give a slight transition to the position.



Step 7 : Similarly we can draw more circles or rectangles according to our choice.

The final image is as shown below.
